Last update on December 24, 2011.

Xanadu Farm was named
"Reserve Small Breeder of the Year"
at the 2001 Futurity!

One of our trademarks here at Xanadu Farm is "Enriching Pedigrees.... One Champion at a Time."   For us it means that we show and offer for sale to you, alpacas from our own careful breeding program.  We're delighted to be able to share our 18 years of experience to help you get started or to make your alpaca business more profitable. We'd love to have you visit and enjoy the results of our time and care.  Check out our news on What's Hot.

Xanadu Farm maintains a foundation breeding herd of approximately 18 elite quality females, all with a full Peruvian heritage. See our Xanadu Moms page for a closer look at these dams and each of their crias.  We gathered and continue to refine this group by handpicking our females from the very best of our own production and other elite US breeders, and then breeding them both to top outside herdsires from across the country and to our own champion males.

We proudly offer an outstanding line up of champion herdsires. Please take a look at our Herdsire Row stars, Peruvian Presidio, Maple Brook Barnabus, Eastwind's Snowstorm, TGF Royal Tribute and our youngsters on our Xanadu Herdsires page.  We're also very excited to introduce our Xanadu Pedigree Enrichment Program which will offer 1/2 price breedings to our herdsires for all alpacas purchased from us. See our Alpacas For Sale page for details.

When we sat down to plan our alpaca business over eighteen years ago we concentrated first on becoming the best possible judges of fleece and conformation. We used that experience to assemble our breeding herd and since then to pursue a thoughtful and aggressive breeding program. For us this means that we focus on the quality of each individual alpaca and how to improve its offspring through selective breeding, rather than chasing after gimmicks and "brand name" marketing. Take a look at our Cria Class of 2011 page to see how we’re doing.

We also firmly believe that the "proof is in the pudding" - that show success is a cornerstone of any good breeding program. See how we're doing by clicking on "2011 Show Results".  Because we're an established program, except for promoting one or two ladies from our show group to our Foundation Herd, WE OFFER ALL OF OUR SHOW ALPACAS FOR SALE!  Finally, we think we offer the best after sale support in the business.  Our farm managers live right across from the barn and spend all of their time taking care of our herd and visiting moms and crias, and we take great pleasure in working with our customers to help them build their own winning program.

Most importantly, we’re dedicated to building the United States fibre industry. All of our fleece clip every year is turned into sumptuous alpaca products. Working with fibre artist, Cheri Paxson, we have developed an elite line of yarn from our royal baby fleece. Cheri carefully supervises every step of the process from fleece to heavenly soft yarn. Yarns are available in our rich array of natural colors and Goose Bumps’ hand dyed rainbow of colors. Check this out at Cheri’s Website at Paxknits.com. All of our other fleece goes to Timnath Goal Diggers Alpaca 4-H Club where they produce lovely knit and felted products.
